COVID-19 Operating Protocols

Coweta County is committed to safeguarding the health and safety of its employees and the general public while providing local government services for our community. As the County continues to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, the following mitigation efforts are being instituted. These operating measures have been developed based upon guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Public Health (DPH), and Operational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Board of Commissioners and Board of Zoning Appeals:

  • General Guidelines:
    • Audience, commissioner, and staff seating has been rearranged to comply with social distancing – this has substantially limited public seating
    • Body temperature screening of attendees prior to entrance into the building – anyone presenting a body temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or above will not be permitted to enter
    • All attendees will be required to wear a cloth face covering or mask while inside the County building – masks will not be provided to the general public due to limited supplies available
    • Applicants and citizens are encouraged to provide public comments in advance of the meeting via email or U.S. mail – this correspondence will be provided to the respective Board and included in the official minutes
    • Applicants are required to provide any presentation materials to County staff electronically in advance of the meeting – no hard copies or use of the A/V system by the applicants will be permitted
    • Individuals who are medically fragile are encouraged to attend via video conference as outlined below
    • Public participation (comments) at the Board of Commissioners meeting will be permitted in accordance with the meeting Rules and Procedures
    • Public participation (comments) at the Board of Zoning Appeals meeting will be permitted with a three (3) minute time limit
