Our Mission

The Georgia Public Defender Council is an independent agency within the executive branch of the state government of Georgia. We operate without political considerations or the influence of private interests under the mandates of the Georgia Indigent Defense Act of 2003. Our circuit public defenders are responsible for ensuring that each client we represent receives a legal defense that is zealous, effective, timely, and ethical; consistent with the guarantees of the Constitution of the State of Georgia and the Constitution of the United States; and is conducted such that the criminal justice system operates effectively to achieve justice.

Services

The Circuit Public Defender in Coweta County represents indigent clients with cases being prosecuted in Coweta Superior Court. We also represent juvenile court clients and those sentenced to Alternative courts in Coweta County. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
