Right-of-Way Road Work
Please review our current list of mowing routes, impacted roads and an estimated time of completion.
Coweta County is currently divided into five quadrants with two mowing crews assigned to each quadrant.
Note: Right of way mowing is handled on a set schedule, however, if there is a sight problem, please call 770-683-7623. In addition, the mowing cycle completion times may be impacted by inclement weather that prevents tractors from operating on the shoulders.
About Us
The Road Department is responsible for maintaining safe roadways for the public, along with the county’s fleet maintenance, fuel system, grading and some new buildings.
Specifically, the Road Department maintains the county road systems, bridges, drainage ditches and structures, road signs, rights of way, county airport ground maintenance, fleet maintenance, fuel distribution sites, along with having a grading/ construction division, a new building construction division, and a landscape crew for county facilities.
In addition to maintaining the roads, our grading and new building divisions construct new roads, and build new buildings. Examples include the roads in the new eastside governmental facility, site prep for that facility, construction of the east side sheriff’s precinct building, site prep grading and paving at the Clay/Wood community center and site grading and paving on many of the county’s recreation complexes in the past.
Driveway and culvert pipe inspections are also handled by the Road Department. If you are constructing or modifying an entrance onto a Coweta County Road, you will need to schedule a Driveway Pipe Inspection with the Road Department prior to any installation.
