On Election Day, you will need to follow the signs to join the line. It's important to understand the laws regarding behavior at polling places.
Here are some key points to remember for a smooth voting experience:
- No campaigning. This includes shirts, buttons, hats, bumper stickers or any item that shows support or opposition to any candidate, question, amendment or referendum on the ballot. Be sure to cover up or take off any such items before entering the 150 no campaigning zone around the polling place.
- Make sure you have your ID ready. Click here for a list of acceptable IDs for voting.
- Silence and put away all cell phones and other electronic devices. The law prohibits the use of any photographic devices and protects the privacy of all voters in the precinct.
- The law prohibits anyone to be in the booth with another voter unless that person has signed an oath of assistance. Please proceed through the voting process and wait for others in your party outside of the voting area.
- Children accompanying a parent or guardian are not allowed to touch any of the equipment.
- Your vote is not cast until it has been put into the scanner. Review your printed ballot before placing it into the scanner. If you want to make any changes, let a poll official know BEFORE placing it into the scanner.
