When an American flag becomes worn out or torn, the US Flag Code dictates how to respectfully retire it.

Coweta County wants to assist citizens retire their flags in the manner dictated by that Code.

Coweta County has joined forces with the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) to provide a flag collection box where worn and damaged flags can be left for proper retirement.

The box will be kept at Customer Service, located at the main entrance to the Coweta Administration building, 22 East Broad Street in downtown Newnan.

We ask that all flags be properly folded and handed to the Customer Service representative on duty for placement in the box.

Local service organizations will make sure that the flags are collected from the box and properly retired.

The Coweta County Administration building is open Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm except for holidays.
