The Coweta County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 11.4 percent in incorporated Coweta County and 14.5 percent in unincorporated Coweta County. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Commission Chambers in the County Administration building, 37 Perry Street, Newnan, Georgia on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 7:30am and 6pm. The United States Department of Agriculture has presented a certificate of appreciation to the Coweta County Animal Shelter. A Coweta shelter dog has made it through the USDA Detector Dog Program. It is currently working with a handler in Hawaii. USDA adopted the dog on 12/4/2014.
