What are "normal hours" for the Sheriff's Office?
Patrol and Jail Divisions operate twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Normal office hours for all other units are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding county holidays.

Where and when can I have fingerprints processed?
The Coweta County Sheriff's Office processes fingerprints for Superior Court Adoptions and Georgia Weapons Carry Licenses at the Public Entrance (first entrance from Bullsboro Drive)--Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 NOON and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, excluding county holidays.  Call the
 Coweta County Jail at (770) 253-1664 during normal office hours with specific questions.

How do I obtain a copy of an accident or incident report?
All reports made by Coweta County Sheriff's Deputies may be obtained in person at the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Office at
560 Greison Trail, Newnan or at the Coweta County Sheriff's Office East Precinct at 55 Literary Lane, Sharpsburg during normal office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding holidays).  You may obtain a report by mail by sending your request and payment with a self addressed stamped envelope to Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, ATTN Records, 560 Greison Trail, Newnan, GA 30263.  There is no charge for the first copy if you are the victim or named in the report.  Otherwise reports are $3.00 each.  Only cash or USPS money orders are accepted.  You must complete an Accident Report Statement of Need or a Records Request to receive the report.  Incident and Accident Reports may also be obtained online through P2C.

Where can I pay my traffic citation?
Traffic tickets issued by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office or the Georgia State Patrol (for an offense in Coweta County) can be paid at the Coweta County State Court Clerk’s Office, located inside the Justice Center at
72 Greenville Street, Newnan.  Contact the State Court Clerk's Office at (770) 254-2699 for more information.

How can I obtain a copy of my Georgia Driver’s History?
The
Georgia Department of Drivers Services is located at 130 Bullsboro Drive, Suite 128, (East Gate Shopping Center), Newnan.  Normal operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM.  The office is closed every Monday.  The telephone number is (678) 413-8400.

How can I obtain a copy of my Georgia Criminal History Record Information?
If you are a Coweta County resident, living in the county jurisdiction, you may request a copy of your
Georgia Criminal History Record Information at the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Office at 560 Greison Trail, Newnan during normal office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding holidays).  The fee is $10.00.  Only cash or USPS money orders are accepted.  A drivers license or state issued ID is required.  Criminal histories are normally available within three business days.  You must complete a GCIC Criminal History Consent Form to receive your history.

How can I get charges removed from my record?
If you believe your criminal record is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request for the record to be corrected.  Contact the Records Unit with the disputed information.

Applicants with arrest BEFORE July 1, 2013 should review Georgia Law OCGA §35-3-37 to determine if their case qualifies for restriction. OCGA §35-3-37 provides for the restriction of certain criminal history records when approved by the prosecuting attorney. It is your responsibility to determine if your case qualifies for restriction. We are NOT able to give advice about your case. You may seek the advice of an attorney if you need further clarification of the law.

If you want to request an expungement of an arrest record, you may do so at the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Office at 560 Greison Trail, Newnan during normal office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding holidays).  There is a non-refundable $45 fee ($20 to the Sheriff's Office; $25 to GCIC).  It normally takes 90 to 180 days to complete the process.  You will receive notification by mail of the results.

Applicants may download a request to restrict arrest record form at http://gbi.georgia.gov/georgia-criminal-history-recordrestrictions, or may request an application at the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Office at 560 Greison Trail, Newnan during normal office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding holidays).
