All misdemeanor criminal and misdemeanor traffic cases are prosecuted by the Solicitor.
For Continuances: To have case continued you must appear in Court on your scheduled court date and request a continuance from the judge. NO CONTINUANCES WILL BE GRANTED OVER THE TELEPHONE.
STATE COURT OF COWETA COUNTY GA - NOTICE CHANGE OF ADDRESS. This notice shall apply to all individuals arrested in Coweta County, Georgia whose cases are bondable for a future appearance in the State Court of Coweta County. Pursuant to OCGA 17-6-73: Every bond or recognizance given to secure the appearance of any person in any criminal proceeding shall have entered thereon, the mailing: address of the principal and each surety. Pursuant to OCGA 17-6-54, a defendant must provide to the Court and the surety any change of address. Prior to the case(s) being filed with the Clerk of State Court written notice of any change of address should be forwarded to the bondsman and the Solicitor's office. After the case is filed in the Clerk's office written notice of any change of address shall be forwarded to the Clerk of State Court and the bondsman. Pursuant to Uniform Superior Court Rule 32.1, the Clerk will mail notice to the bondsman, if any, any defense attorney of record and the defendant at the last address indicated in the Court records. Failure to comply with this notice could result in a warrant for your arrest for failure to appear on a scheduled Court date. SO ORDERED THIS 3rd day of August, 2004.
